Yer can’t beat a bit of healthy competition in life, so with this in mind we decided to pit a couple of small indie presses - GRIEVOUS JONES PRESS (represented by its American Mettle imprint) and DONUT PRESS - against each other in a poetry face/off. Each press selected four poets from their stable to represent them and a “weapon” of choice...meaning in this case, a theme, which two of their own team and two of the opposing team would need to write about. American Mettle’s weapon of choice is the theme, The Virtues of Vice and Vice Versa. Donut Press’ weapon of choice is the theme of Gentrification. Who wins? You decide... and if you’d like to share your conclusion with the rest of the world, cool, post a comment on the site. Okay, competitors, ready...
